Andy graduated from Person Senior High School (72), where his lifelong involvement with Rocket sports programs began, and Appalachian State University (78),

where he led the Mountaineers football team to numerous victories and grew Howard’s Knob, among other things. in Topsiders and, most importantly,

meet his beautiful bride over a game of pinball. Andy was a microbiologist and quality control specialist for Miller Brewing Company for many years at locations in Moultrie, Georgia, Cincinnati, Ohio and Eden, N.C.

Hes will live forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 38 yearsCarole Monk Thomas, formerly of Concord, N.C. his children Sara and Emmett Perdue, and Charles Anderson (Chip) Thomas, Jr. and Katie Thomas,

Anne Elizabeth and Alex Lassiter Laura Thomas and Lee McCollum, all of Raleigh, as well as his four (soon to be six) grandchildren, Zeb and Ford Perdue, Genevieve Thomas and George Lassiter,

who together were the light of his life. He was the son of the lates Marjory Monk Thomas and Gene Winstead Thoma Sr both of Roxboro, and is survived by his sister Jaime Thomas Combs of Raleigh and his brother Gene Winstead Thomas, Jr.

who knew him affectionately as Pops or sometimes as Popsicle Pete, Andy Panda or Anj, will remember him for his unmatched fishing talent, sly jokes, crazy antics,

masterful mechanical skills and Phil-style golf swing Mickelson will be remembered . , but above all for his talent, his kind heart, his total selflessness and his unparalleled ability to include those around him in the joy he brought to the world.

Irma Jean Robinson Dunnegan, 83, of Durham, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024. Born in Orange County, Brooks And White Funeral Home Obituaries       

she was the daughter of the late Leyman Floyd Robinson and Rosa Belle Porterfield Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Booker Dunnegan.

Ms. Dunnegan enjoyed

tending to her flowers in the garden, baking cookies and watching her “Stories” on television. She also had a passion for all kinds of music. Most importantly she loved her family and close friend.

Surviving are her children: Randy Dunnegan and Jerry Dunnegan (Elizabeth), all of Hurdle Mills; two sisters: Brenda Blackard and Barbara Smith (Bobby),

all of Roxboro; four grandchildren: Brandon Dunnegan (Danae), Christy Stainback (Troy), Randell Johnson, Lena Johnson; and two great-grandchildren: Alyssa Lilly and Tristan Dunnegan.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 15.00 in Brooks & White Chapel with Dr. M. David Chambers. The screening will take place one hour before the service (2:00 – 3:00 p.m.).

Sandra Lea Whitfield Brady, 77, of Hurdle Mills, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Manley Whitfield and Glenna McKinney Whitfield. In addition to her parents,

she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Brady; stepmother, Louberne M. Whitfield; Brother, Robert “Bobby” M. Whitfield, Jr. Sandra was a Baptist.

Surviving are her two siblings: Amanda “Mandy” Garrett (Ronnie) and Corbin Whitfield (Leslie);

two children: Charles “Bo” Reed (Karen) of Dawsonville, GA, Kimberly R. Malin (Eric) of Westover MD two stepchildrenRob Brady (Beverlys) and Amy Gerling Lee all of Durham Stepsisters

Martha Glisson (Donnie), Nancy Moore and Penny Brown, all of Durham; five grandchildren: Brooks Reed, Davis Reed, Charlea Malin,

Bryce Malin and Mason Reed; three step-grandchildren: James Staples, Paul Staples and Jared Staples (Angella); and a great-grandson, Silas Staples.

The funeral will be held privately at a laters date.
